Act Local partnership with festivals
Act Local Festivals broke ground a year ago on the foundational principle that we can all think globally and act locally, given the right tools and engagement. Here is how our mission unfolded this year.
June – August 2024
- Cinegear LA –What did we do? Interactive and on-screen content included trivia contests, contact information, and audience award voting and management. Why it mattered? This was our first event where we sponsored an information booth and a festival meetup.
- Valley Film Festival – What did we do? Act Local took over Women’s Day at the Valley Film Festival. Why it mattered? The annual independent international film festival emphasizes community advocacy. Act Local was there to put a spotlight on the themes and storytellers from the local community through our interactive tools inviting audiences to vote, engage via our photo booth tool and see themselves on the big theater screen.
September – December 2024
- Palm Springs International Comedy Festival – What did we do? Act Local successfully installed electronic delivery at the Mary Pickford Theater in Palm Springs and rolled out its new photo booth tool to great success at this festival, featuring films and live performances. Why it mattered? The festival brought together comedians, filmmakers, and film goers and Act Local captured the on and off-stage antics and big laughs with our Big Screenies (photo booth tool) and highlighted onsite and online why laughter heals.
- SoCal Women’s’ Leadership Summit – What did we do? Act Local participated in this annual leadership summit that unites an amazing group of female tech leaders on panels, keynotes, and networking with attendees interacting with our photo booth tools and signage; to celebrate and empower women at every stage in their careers. Why it mattered? For the first time, Act Local partnered with the Women in Technology in Hollywood Foundation to engage members and attendees with our interactive tools to connect attendees and encapsulate the breaking the ceiling moments.
- Sherman Oaks Film Festival – What did we do? Act Local joined the beloved festival founded by longtime residents and movie veterans alike capturing, red carpet moments, a gala, and interviews with filmmakers and producers. Why it mattered? Through our interactive tools, Act Local showcased some of the best undiscovered talent and independent films that support the Black filmmakers, LGBTQ, Women and SDG related stories.
